Annie Poage, MA
Licensed professional counselor & PRACTICE OWNER
Life is complex and navigating its challenges can feel overwhelming. I get it; I’m right there with you.
I understand this intimately because I've navigated my own share of life's trials. These personal challenges have not only deepened my understanding of the human experience but have also fueled my passion for helping others find their strength and resilience.
My decision to become a therapist was driven by a desire to create a safe space for individuals to explore their personal journeys. I firmly believe that sharing our stories, vulnerabilities, and triumphs can serve as a powerful catalyst for change. In my practice, my top priority is to establish a comfortable and judgment-free environment for you to explore your unique path to healing. Regardless of your age or background, my aim is to make therapy accessible and stress-free, drawing from the principles that have guided me in my own life.
My therapeutic approach is founded on the belief that every individual possesses the inner strength to heal and grow when provided with the right tools and opportunities. I am deeply committed to assisting you in discovering your inner strength and resilience, enabling you to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.
I strongly believe that effective therapy centers around your unique needs and experiences. In our collaborative work, you are not merely a passive recipient of guidance; you are an active participant in your healing journey. Your voice, values, and goals are always at the forefront of our partnership.
Speaking of, our partnership is incredibly important to the therapeutic process, and shouldn’t be entirely one-sided. So, let me share a bit about myself!
In 2022, I founded Wild Blue Counseling, PLLC, with the mission of providing quality and accessible mental health care to our community. Apart from this practice, I also provide counseling services to students at West Texas A&M University.
Although I was born and raised in Abilene, TX, I've called Amarillo home for the past 8 years. Here, I reside with my husband, two sons (although one is at college now; Wreck em’!), and our beloved mini-Aussie, Henry. When I'm not in the office or on campus, you'll often find me traveling, reading, creating, and cherishing moments with family and friends.
